Catchings' 18 points leads Fever past Sky
INDIANAPOLIS _ Tamika Catchings scored a season-high 18 points and the Indiana Fever beat the Chicago Sky 74-67 on Wednesday night.
Katie Douglas had 12 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Fever (8-8), who improved to 7-2 all-time against Chicago and 4-1 at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Catchings added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in her eighth game of the season after missing the team's first eight. She suffered a torn right Achilles' tendon in last year's Eastern Conference finals and underwent surgery in September.
Candice Dupree finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, Dominique Canty scored 16 and Jia Perkins chipped in 13 for Chicago (5-10), which had won two straight following a five-game losing streak.
The Fever pushed a seven-point first-quarter lead to 35-20 on Douglas' 3-pointer with 6:34 left in the second quarter. Catchings shot 4-of-5 from the field in the first half and scored 13 points.
Indiana, which led by as many as 16 points in the third quarter, took its biggest lead, 67-49, on Catchings' three-point play with 7 minutes left.
