Man pleads not guilty to porn charges
A Zion man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges he possessed child pornography, which was originally found on his computer by his employer.
Timothy Foor, 44, faces up to five years in prison if convicted in the case.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said Foor, of 3503 Wembley Drive, was a computer operator at Siemens Building Technologies in Buffalo Grove.
On April 23, Siemens began a scan of all computers used by their employees to ensure they were not being misused, Stanton said.
The check of Foor's computer turned up evidence he had been viewing child pornography at work from an external hard drive, she said.
Siemens employees called the FBI, which referred the case to the Lake County sheriff's office.
Sheriff's detectives obtained a search warrant for Foor's home, and on April 28 found the hard drive and a collection of compact discs.
An examination of the hard drive and the compact discs turned up numerous images of child pornography, Stanton said.
Associate Judge Daniel Shanes scheduled a trial of the case for Sept. 15, and told Foor to appear in court Aug. 18.
