Five people shot outside Bellwood home
BELLWOOD -- Five people were shot as they stood outside a house in the west suburban Bellwood.
Bellwood police spokesman Richard Blass said an unknown person from across the street fired the shots late Tuesday that wounded three women, a girl and one man.
Blass said the shooter stood in the front yard of a single-family home and opened fire on the victims, then retreated to the home's back yard.
Blass said none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
No motive for the shooting has been determined, with Blass adding that the assailant was not in custody.
