Child-sex sting nets arrest

An Elgin man was arrested Wednesday in St. Charles for setting up a meeting with a 14-year-old girl for sex, police announced Friday. St. Charles police said Lawrence Celeste, 56, drove to a business in the 2700 block of East Main Street around 8:30 p.m. to meet the girl and instead, found an undercover investigator who had been posing as the girl in online chat sessions. Celeste was charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child and posted $2,500 bond. Indecent solicitation is a class 3 felony and carries a punishment of two to five years in prison if convicted.
