St. John's to hold picnic

St. John's will hold its Picnic in the Park at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 29 at Towne Park, downtown Algonquin.

Picnic and games will follow the service. The community is welcome.

School sign-up Continues: St. John's Lutheran School is accepting Preschool, All Day Pre-Kindergarten, All Day Kindergarten and Grades One through Eight "Day School" Registration for the 2008/2009 school year.

St. John's will offer a new Preschool and All Day Pre-Kindergarten Program.

Starting this fall, St. John's will offer a full day class that will meet three times a week for four- and five-year-old children. These full day classes are offered from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

St. John's also will offer blended programs for three- amd four-year-old students from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. or from 12:30 to 3 p.m.Tuesday and Thursday.

Full day K through eighth grades:

St. John's School Program offers an accredited all day kindergarten and first through eighth grade program. The program is complemented by a before and after school (BASS) program, after school extracurricular programs including art classes, chess club, foreign language classes, scouting programs and sports programs including: soccer, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and track and field.

St. John's has limited class sizes and acceptance is on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is open to the community and is not limited to church members.

St. John's is located in downtown Algonquin, just one block west of route 31.
