Learn how to use plants in cooking
On Monday, June 30, Master Gardener Judy Morganroth, University of Illinois Extension Service-Kane County, will present a program on herb gardening at the Dundee Township Public Library, 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee.
Beginning at 7 p.m. in the library's meeting room, participants can see, touch and smell a variety of popular culinary plants as well and learn how to grow, preserve and use them in cooking.
Morganroth, who once lived in England, also will share her photos and growing experiences of her English cottage herb garden. Participants will receive a potpourri of the herb lavender to take home with them.
A gift basket provided by the Friends of the Library will be raffled off after the program, which is free and open to the public.
