Begin campaign to cut wastefulness
Much has been said by our campaigning politicians about conserving energy and saving the environment.
Why must we Americans wait for government mandates to help us? Instead, consider the following:
I'm an American. I drive my V-8 car one mile to the store to buy a newspaper. I shave with the hot water running. I use three paper towels to dry my hands. I throw half of my meal into the garbage. I run the A.C. when not home. I buy bottled water. And so on and so on. The list is endless.
We have drug, alcohol, cigarette and other awareness programs. Why not have our schools and media run articles and sponsor contests on ways to save energy? Why wait for government programs that produce little help?
If we all at least attempt to improve on this wastefulness our energy crisis would be reduced. It would take little effort by the public to save our resources.
