Rally against CN buyout on June 29

We would like the community to be aware of a rally against the train expansion to be held at Memorial Park (on Hough Street) on Sunday, June 29th at 1 p.m. Come and show your concern!

We also want to express our support for Barrington Village Board President, Karen Darch, who on June 2nd challenged our Federal lawmakers (Obama, Durbin, and Bean) to pass legislation to stop the purchase of the EJ&E by Canadian National in the best interests of our community -- affecting safety, the environment, traffic, and our quality of life in the entire Barrington area.

If they truly don't support it, as they say, then they should present legislation to prevent it!

CN consistently tells us that by using our train line it will affect 40 communities versus the 80 communities that are currently affected by their lines. However, when pressured, they WILL NOT commit to diminishing the train traffic in any of those 80 communities. They think we are not paying attention! We support win/win situations, but never lose/lose!
