Three charged in man's shooting death

Two men and a woman have been charged with stabbing a woman in the ear then shooting and killing her husband as he tried to protect her.

Chicago Police say 24-year-old Latoya Smith of Chicago was arguing with the female victim on Friday when she stabbed the woman. Smith has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

The woman was in good condition Sunday.

Thirty-four-year-old James Hobson of Chicago and 18-year-old Steven Cohn of Gary, Indiana, are charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting the man in the chest as he tried to protect his wife.

The victims' names have not been released.

The three are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
