Lions club to get cooked

The South Elgin Lions Clubˆ  will host its first Cookin' On The Grill Summer Meat Spin at 6 p.m. Friday at 500 Fulton St., South Elgin. Prime cut meats and a gas grill will be raffled off to raise money for Lions charities. The night also includes music, dancing and a cash bar. Call (847) 888-9575 for more information.

Play video games at library

The Huntley Area Public Library will soon allow teens to play video games at the library, 11000 Ruth Road. The library is seeking new or used donations of the following game consoles: PlayStation2, Xbox, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360. The library also is asking patrons to donate games for the systems that can be used at future tournaments. Donations are tax-deductible.
