Man found dead on sidewalk

Chicago police are investigating the death of a man who was found unresponsive on a sidewalk on the city's South Side.

Officers say emergency workers found 66-year-old George Huff late Friday night in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue. Huff was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An autopsy Saturday by the Cook County medical examiner's office indicated that Huff died of blunt-force trauma to the head and a cut artery.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
