Music
The Shalom Youth Choir and Celebration Ringers of Preston Meadow Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas, will perform at 7:30 p.m. June 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. Fifth Ave. (Route 25) in St. Charles.
The 21-member group will sing music by André Thomas, Gabriel Fauré, John Ferguson, Mark Hayes and John Rutter in a variety of styles. The Celebration Ringers handbell choir will perform pieces by Sandra Eithun, Sondra Tucker and Hart Morris.
The choir incorporates mission work into their tour. In 2007, they went to Louisiana to do painting and construction work on buildings damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The public is invited to the concert. An offering will be collected. Call (630) 584-2199 for details.

Bring your own drum or rhythm instrument to a drumming circle from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 15 at Fox Valley Unity Church, 230 Webster St. in Batavia. The evening will include drumming, dancing and singing.
There is a suggested donation of $8 to $10. No one will be turned away. Guests can also bring snacks to share.
The church is also hosting a book discussion in a picnic setting at 11:30 a.m. July 13. The book is "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" by Christopher Moore. The book is available at the church's book store at 230 Webster St. in Batavia.
