Don't fall for sales pitch for new taxes
Well, it is that time of the year again. What time is that? Budget time here in Illinois.
Once again, our paid politicians are anguishing over passing more tax increases to help fix roads we paid to have fixed already in the Illinois FIRST program. Remember that? It was the excuse to double our license plate fees and raise many other taxes to fix the infrastructure of this once great state.
This year is a little different though, in the fact that it is not the governor asking to spend this money. Who is? The willing accomplices of Dennis Hastert and Glenn Poshard. I must say a strange pair, as we have one from each political party. This must be a good thing right? I don't know about you, but whenever I see Republicans reaching across the aisle, I get nervous. Hastert has no business trying to sell this state a bill of goods because he is no longer in politics, and maybe that is a good thing.
Why do these men want to help a governor that is looking at impeachment? Why are they even attaching their names to a tax hike that this state and its citizens do not want or need? I for one say no budget is better than a budget with tax hikes and bad salesmen to boot.
