Ahlgrim's departure a 'huge loss'
I am writing in response to the article announcing the departure of Dr. John Ahlgrim from Mundelein High School.
Having had the pleasure of serving on several committees and organizations with Dr. Ahlgrim, I can say with confidence this is a huge loss for District 120 students, staff, and community.
Dr. Ahlgrim's dedication to this district has been unwavering and beyond reproach. In his 14-year tenure, he has served as teacher, coach, dean, principal, and deputy superintendent, always keeping first and foremost what is best for the students he served. The lessons my children learned from Dr. Ahlgrim went beyond the classroom and football field and helped develop the qualities we all wish our children could possess.
Kudos to Zion Benton Township High School District for recognizing the tremendous character, experience, and qualifications that come with Dr. Ahlgrim. Personally, I would like to offer my congratulations on this new journey and thank Dr. Ahlgrim for all he has done for Mundelein High School; you will be missed.
