Trip to Las Vegas was a win, not a sin

The recent article on Hoffman's trustees trip to Vegas appeared to be factual but seemed to insinuate the village was wasting taxpayers money. In fact the exact opposite is true.

By attending these venues, we bring additional revenues to town and save taxpayers money. Our elected officials need continue to be pro-active in bringing in additional revenues so the taxpayers don't get left with really footing the bill twice a year on our property taxes.

I know most of the attendees, they spend many unpaid hours working for us, many of the attendees have full time jobs, and use their own vacation or personal time to attend these events.

Sensational headlines like "This didn't stay in Vegas" and "Why Hoffman Estates taxpayers footed the bill for trip to Sin City" may have attracted more readers, however, portraying this event as a waste of taxpayers money is the only SIN committed here.
