Thanks for veterans' banquet

On May 23, 2008 the mayor of Rolling Meadows, Ken Nelson, and the city sponsored a banquet at the Meridian for the veterans.

Every one received a door prize. A fully uniformed Color Guard posted the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

A quartet of ladies called "Route 66" sang WWII songs at each table. They were as good as the Andrew Sisters. Veterans from each branch of service were represented. A wonderful dinner was served.

Our thanks to Barry Kromstok, assistant city manager, who set up the entertainment and programs for the evening. Also thanks to your guest speaker, Mr. Allen Boellcher, an ex-Marine and Northrop Grumman F-18 project manager.

Our thanks to all who contributed to make the banquet a success.
