It's time to limit pardon authority

Power to pardon should definitely be limited.

As far as Alexander Hamilton's statement of "there are often critical moments when a well-timed offer of pardon … may restore the tranquility of the commonwealth."

I realize this has been going on for years and times have changed. But it certainly has not restored any tranquility.

It only continues to instill in the general public that when you have the power, anything can be done.

The average joe doesn't get pardoned and some serve many years in prison before they are finally found not guilty.

Our system doesn't work -- all men are not created equal.

What rights do these high-profile criminals have by getting off scot free? This continues to betray our public trust.

There definitely should be a special committee made up of different members of the government to approve any pardons, although I think the process is totally wrong.
