Round Lake Park woman gets probation for marijuana
A Round Lake Park woman was placed on probation for two years today after pleading guilty to possession of marijuana.
Donna Allen, 29, will have the record of her conviction erased if she completes the probation without further trouble with the law.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Brett Henne said agents of the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group received a tip Allen had marijuana in her home last July.
On July 27, agents served a search warrant on Allen's home at 124 E. Midland Drive and discovered six pounds of marijuana in a bedroom.
Allen admitted to police she intended to sell the marijuana to others.
She pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver during a hearing before Circuit Judge George Bridges.
Bridges also ordered Allen to perform 30 hours of community service during her probation.
Henne said Allen faced a maximum sentence of three years in prison if she had been convicted after a trial.
