Missing Chicago girl's body found in Illinois River
OTTAWA -- Authorities in LaSalle County say they've found the body of an 11-year-old Chicago girl who disappeared in the Illinois River near Starved Rock Lock and Dam.
The LaSalle County coroner's office says Guadalupe Aguayza was found dead near the Interstate 39 bridge late Wednesday. She was wading in the river up to her waist when witnesses say she vanished underwater Saturday.
Crews combed the area and downriver for several days before discovering her body.
Her death remains under investigation.
