Bartlett police arrest 25 in two stops at drinking party

Bartlett police said they had to quash some underage drinking party antics twice in one day at the same residence, arresting 25 teens for a variety of offenses.

Police were dispatched twice Friday to a condo at 275 Railroad Ave. in the Bartlett Town Center development, according to a police statement. Authorities arrived after fielding complaints about teens entering and leaving the unit.

The first party ended about 5:30 p.m. after police said they found nine teens inside the condo. Police cited two 16-year-old girls for consumption of alcohol by a minor and a 16-year-old boy for underage possession of an alcoholic beverage.

They also cited six 17- and 18-year-olds -- five from Bartlett and one from Arlington Heights -- for consumption of alcohol by a minor, authorities said. The youths were given a June 24 court date.

Later than night, about 10 p.m., police said they returned to the condo unit and found 16 more teens.

This time, 14 youths, including a 16-year-old minor, were charged with trespassing, police said. They were from Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett and Carpentersville and, except the juvenile, were given a July 9 court date.

Also, police said they cited Anthony Miranda, 18, 1029 S. Evergreen Ave. in Arlington Heights, and John C. Bradley Jr., 18, of 1520 Raymond St. in South Elgin, with possession of cannabis and trespassing.
