McCain expedient in Rev. Hagee issue

This is in response to the letter in Monday's Herald from Mr. Don Frost of Rolling Meadows entitled "Pfleger was just more of the same."

While I agree with his comments regarding Father Pfleger, Mr. Frost apparently is unaware that John McCain actively solicited the support of Rev. John Hagee who, as an anti-Catholic, made many derogatory and inflammatory statements against the Catholic religion.

Of course, McCain then disassociated himself from Rev. Hagee.

In the words of Mr. Frost, you can spell his action e-x-p-e-d-i-e-n-c-y. This is what passes for presidential timbre in the Republican Party.
