The cynical cost of Pfleger and his ilk
I am a conservative, a Catholic, an American, an independent Republican and most importantly to me, a struggling and of course, sinful, Christian.
By the way, I'm a life-long resident of the most notorious neighborhood in our U.S.A. for its government politicians, mob politicians and the strangeness of its priest politicians.
Oh, and its citizen politicians: Bridgeport, the 11th Ward, an atypical area of voters who declare themselves "Democratic Party affiliates."
I say atypical because it's difficult to find a true liberal here.
I have positively, absolutely no sympathy for Cardinal George for having to deal with lunatic Father Pfleger.
I have no sympathy for any of these priests or politicians, as they've all been in bed together for decades in our Windy City, exchanging money, power, favors, jobs, mailing lists and constituents.
They shepherd the good folks from the pews to ward meetings and march them to the polls on election day. Mind-numbed robots are we.
Politicians and priests have a nefarious symbiotic relationship, selling our culture and morals down the drain.
Still to this day, notwithstanding my repeated calls to the Archdiocese, has anyone answered my question: Why never any public rebuke by the Cardinal (or parish priests) of Mayor Daley, who utterly scandalizes our Church by violating "non-negotiables" of Catholic theology?
Undeniably hypocritical Daley, by his candidate endorsements and other seedy political actions, promotes the homosexual agenda and abortion of defenseless children in the womb.
Public servants? Leaders? Disgusting.
Generally, I have no sympathy for anyone in our current religious-political miasma.
I point to the Biblical passage "We reap what we sow."
Who keeps these priests in place? We all do by our tolerance. So who's been voting for these "leaders?"
By our votes and by our refusal to speak up, recruit moral candidates and vote them in, we have our current sick society.
