Socialism doesn't work

Are we losing it in this country? Public bashing of our country is in style now and in full swing. If you do it in front of members of the media, you will get a standing ovation and invitations to speak at graduation ceremonies in selected colleges and universities.

Bashing America not too long ago was reserved exclusively for foreign dictators of the left and intellectuals that have made careers out of insulting our country. But now it is happening here very frequently, with hardly any reaction and little or no outrage.

However, I still have hope. There are people right here now that will side with us to defend this country from our enemies from within. Our best chance for survival may be in the hands of the illegal immigrants that risk their lives to come to this country, work and prosper. I am convinced they will join us to protect what they came here for, like the opportunities they didn't have in their own countries that the bashers here overlook, or intentionally ignore. And they won't listen when individuals like Rev. Wright shouts from his pulpit that minorities don't have a chance, that the U. S. government created the HIV virus to wipe out a segment of our population and that the only terrorist we must fear is our own government that caused 9/11, etc.

I also have the feeling that in the next four years, under our next president we will hear a lot about Liberation Theology with the blessings of the radical media and other radical sectors of our political scene. Rev. Wright, the teacher of Liberation Theology and his former disciple will make amends to their parting that was merely due to the constrains of political necessities during the electoral race. All in the sacred name of unity.

There is no doubt in my mind that our political and social landscapes will change dramatically in the next four years, not necessarily for the better where we will have to start learning to live with less and share more the fruits of our labor. All in the name of nationalism and better image in the eyes of the world.

We have already started under a Democrat Congress under which we are already experiencing scarcities only known in other countries. Redistribution of wealth will surely be attempted. On the positive side we may learn within at least the next few years Socialism has never worked where it has been implemented.

But don't despair. I still bet on the millions of illegal immigrants allied to us to be truly outraged, as I hope we will be, and they'll join us to fight back. After all, they and us work very hard to prosper in these United States of America.
