Misericordia says thanks to Palatine
The citizens of Palatine and our surrounding communities have come through again.
In the face of our present economic difficulties, the friends of Misericordia opened their hearts and their pocketbooks to make the Misericordia 2008 Candy Day Collection a great success.
With rising costs hurting all of us, your cheerful generosity and willingness to share are greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to programs that meet the special needs of the children and adults served by the Misericordia Home.
Your gifts are part of one of the most important fund raising events the year for Misericordia. It requires so many dedicated volunteers who are willing to give of their weekend time to don the red and white vests and ask for your help.
These "angels" are essential to any success we have. The exemplary programs that bring love, dignity, and respect to the needy residents at the Misericordia Home hinge directly on their efforts. We are truly thankful for all who participate.
The volunteers and friends of the Twice Blest Thrift Shop, Misericordia's Palatine affiliate, continue to provide leadership in this task. A special thank you goes out to them. We welcome you to join us for 2009. Stop by the store for more information.
The remarkable young people of our community give our effort new vitality. Kudos go out to ALL teens who volunteered. The students from the St. Viator's Community Service program gave us extended support this year. We value their presence and encourage other local schools service groups to join us.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to everyone who has been a part of this blessed endeavor. The grateful staff and residents send you a very large Misericordia THANK YOU.
See you next year.
