Candidates: speak on global warming

I have been following the presidential and congressional races closely.

While our presidential nominees have been clear on the importance of acting on global warming, our candidates for Congress have been silent on the issue.

There is no denying it that global warming is happening and it's affecting people everywhere. People right here in Illinois are doing their part by driving less and changing their light bulbs.

Just last weekend dozens of families gathered in Barrington for a Greenpeace event to help stop global warming. People of all ages made phone calls, wrote letters and took photo petitions to really let their voices be heard. They wanted to show their candidates for Congress, representative Melissa Bean and challenger Steve Greenberg, that people here want a representative who has a strong plan to stop global warming.

As these candidates for Congress make their cases to voters in the coming months, I'd like to hear more about they intend to do to protect the health of our communities and families.
