Safety Day at Dundee library
The children's department of the Dundee Township Public Library invites children from preschool age to second grade to Safety Day from 10 a.m. to noon June 19. Local police and fire personnel will tells stories and demonstrate safety gear. After the presentation, rescue equipment will be open for inspection in the library parking lot. No registration is required for this free program.

Animal shelter hosts golf outing
Anderson Animal Shelter is hosting its second annual "Driving Them Home" golf outing on July 11 at The Highlands of Elgin. The event begins with a "Shotgun Start" at 11:30 am. Attendees can try their luck at hole-in-one and putting contests among other fun chances to win prizes. Dinner and a prize ceremony will take place immediately following the outing at The Higlands of Elgin Clubhouse.

Proceeds from this event benefit Anderson Animal Shelter, a shelter providing temporary housing for approximately 3,400 homeless or abandoned companion animals annually. The shelter is committed not only to providing shelter to animals that are in need, but also to eliminating the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals, and doing everything in its power to help curb pet overpopulation through its spay/neuter efforts.
