How did you wind up in education? Going on outdoor education trips with fifth-graders when I was in high school.

What is your dream vacation? Fishing in Canada.

Favorite reality show? "Beauty and the Geek"

If you could invite one literary character to dinner, who would you pick and why? Curious George. He wouldn't say much, but he would be hilarious!

Bungee jumping, rappelling or parachuting? None, I'm scared to death of heights!

What's the most innovative program you've seen so far at school? Almost everything they do in my special education classrooms.

What lasting impression do you hope to leave? You have to think of the child first.

What's the worst influence on today's youth? Adults who don't care about kids.

Thing that makes today's teens distinct? They are extremely bright!
