Church: Pfleger to return to St. Sabina on June 16
St. Sabina Catholic Church leaders say the Rev. Michael Pfleger will return to the Chicago parish on June 16th after a nearly two-week suspension.
But the Archdiocese of Chicago couldn't confirm Pfleger's return and a spokeswoman says Cardinal Francis George hasn't issued any new statement on the matter.
George suspended Pfleger on June Third after the priest mocked Hillary Clinton while preaching from the pulpit of Senator Barack Obama's former church, Trinity United Church of Christ.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported on its Web site Sunday that St. Sabina parishioners applauded as associate minister Kimberly Lymore announced Pfleger's return.
Lymore read a letter from Pfleger in which he asked that "this be a teaching moment for us to hear from the Lord."
