St. Charles tabs new principals for two schools

St. Charles Unit District 303 announced Friday the hiring of two new elementary school principals.

Adam Zbrozek was named chief administrator for Lincoln Elementary School and Rachel Overton for Norton Creek Elementary School.

The hirings are expected to be finalized at the school board's meeting Monday and take effect July 1.

Zbrozek has been assistant principal at Haines Middle School in St. Charles for three years. Before that, he was assistant superintendent for curriculum in DePue, Ill., and spent several years as a school social worker for the Princeton Special Education Cooperative, officials said.

Currently, Overton is principal of Bryan Middle School in Elmhurst, a job she's had for five years. She previously was principal for three years at Coultrap Elementary School in Geneva and also has experience as a teacher and assistant principal at the elementary and middle school levels in several other districts, officials said.

Brian Harris, assistant superintendent for human resources in District 303, said in a news release each candidate was "impressive during the interview process" and highly qualified.

The applicants were selected by committees of parents, staff and administrators from each school.

"We look forward to (them) joining our excellent team," Harris said.

Salary information was not immediately available.
