Rep. Biggins set to appear in court on DUI

Am Elmhurst lawmaker has a June 18th court date in Springfield on charges that accuse him of driving drunk.

Elmhurst Republican Bob Biggins was arrested last week after police saw his Honda Accord -- with Illinois House of Representatives plates -- driving in the wrong lane.

The 61-year-old issued a statement apologizing for the incident, which he called a "serious lapse in judgment."

Biggins has been a state representative since 1993. He also was cited for lacking proof of insurance and improper lane usage.

No one else was in the car.
