Selle steps aside at Grayslake N.

Grayslake North's softball team will have a new head coach next spring.

Stacy Selle has stepped down after two seasons at the helm. The Knights finished 10-18 this spring, after going 9-24 in their inaugural campaign in 2006.

Selle coached Grayslake to a school-record 27 wins and regional and sectional championships in 2005. A graduate of Grant, she's also been head softball coach at Antioch.

Girls basketball

Swanson off to UW-Parkside: Grant senior Jamie Swanson will continue her education and basketball career at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

A three-year all-area selection, Swanson averaged 16.7 points and 5.7 rebounds her senior year for the North Suburban Conference Prairie Division champs. She will study education at UW-Whitewater.

The Warhawks finished third in the nation in NCAA Division III last season, posting a 29-4 record under head coach Keri Carollo.
