Antioch official's bar cited

Antioch Trustee Robert McCarty was charged with disorderly conduct following multiple complaints of loud music coming from his establishment, VIP Sports Bar and Night Club at Lake Street and Route 59.

Police Chief James Foerster said a woman who lives about a block from the bar complained for three weekends in a row about the noise, and McCarty was issued a ticket May 23.

He will appear in branch court in Round Lake Beach at 10:30 a.m. June 25. Foerster said if McCarty is found guilty, he will be issued a fine of $50 to $500.

This is the first time VIP has been cited, and McCarty was cooperative, Foerster said.
