Notre Dame's AD leaving to run Duke
DURHAM, N.C. - Kevin White is leaving Notre Dame to become Duke's athletic director.
White will be introduced as Joe Alleva's replacement Saturday afternoon during a news conference at Duke, two people familiar with the hiring process told The Associated Press. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the official announcement had not been made.
White had been at Notre Dame since 2000. He hired football coaches Tyrone Willingham and Charlie Weis, and hired former Duke assistant Mike Brey as the men's basketball coach.
Alleva was hired as LSU's athletic director in April after a decade of leading the Blue Devils' 26 sports programs.
