Briefs: Rox City Grill opens
The Hotel Baker in St. Charles on Thursday opened its newest restaurant, Rox City Grill, 100 W. Main St. The eatery has a menu that includes tuna sashimi, veal meatloaf, steak and seafood. The restaurant also features a full bar, wine list and an adjoining lounge. Dining hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Campton cruise nights
Weekly cruise nights featuring hot rods and vintage vehicles are planned through September in Campton Hills. The events take place from 6 to 9 p.m. every Friday at Campton Crossings shopping center along Route 64. Cruise nights also include 50s and 60s music and trophies. Call (630) 584-5700.
ECC sets nursing tests
Elgin Community College's nursing program will hold preadmission exams on Thursday and June 26. The registration deadline for the first exam is Sunday. The registration deadline for the second exam is June 22. The exam is a prerequisite for admission into the program. Aurora water parks to open
Splash Country Water Park and Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center, both in Aurora, will open for the summer season at 10 a.m. Saturday. Both water parks will be open daily through mid-August. Hours are from noon to 7 p.m. Sundays to Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Admission rates for Fox Valley Park District residents are $7 on weekdays and $8 on weekends for ages 13 and older; $6 on weekdays and $7 on weekends for children ages 2 to 12. Nonresident admission is $1 more for each. Twilight rates, senior discounts and combination admissions also are available. Splash Country is at 195 S. Barnes Road. Phillips Park is at 828 Montgomery Road.
Cancer survivors celebrate
Celebration of Life -- Humor, Hugs and Hope cancer survivor celebration is at 9 a.m. Sunday at Hilton Garden Inn, 4070 E. Main St., St. Charles.
