Lake Co. building evacuated

The Lake County building in downtown Waukegan was evacuated briefly about 10:45 a.m. today.

A maintenance department supervisor said one of the workers on the re-construction project for the parking garage attached to the building's north side accidentally set off a fire alarm.

The Waukegan Fire Department sent a pumper truck to the building.

Employees and visitors were allowed to re-enter the building after an inspection.

The event lasted for about 15 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
