Briefs: School history exhibit

The Hoffman Estates History Museum will host a special history exhibit on the earliest schools in Hoffman Estates from 10 a.m. to noon June 7 in the gym of Fairview Elementary School, 375 Arizona Blvd. in Hoffman Estates. A luncheon honoring village namesake Jack Hoffman for his contributions to these early schools will begin at 12:30 p.m. Luncheon tickets are $25 per person; proceeds will benefit the Hoffman Estates History Museum. Rainbows golf meet set

The Rainbows 20th annual Golf Classic sponsored by The Bank of America will be held Monday at Twin Orchards Country Club in Long Grove featuring golf, celebrity guests, auctions and a raffle. Rainbows is a charity that provides grief support to kids and teens struggling with death, divorce and other life-altering crises. Little Boots Rodeo coming

Elk Grove Park District is going country this summer, hosting a Little Boots Rodeo on June 22 for the family. Pig races, a petting zoo, pony rides, wagon ride and a mechanical bull will be among the activities planned for the new park district event. The fun will run from noon to 5 p.m. at 901 Leicester Road, Elk Grove Village. Park district officials ask for a donation of a nonperishable food item to donate to the Elk Grove food pantry. Pony and wagon rides will cost $2 a person. A ride on the mechanical bull will cost $5 a person after 3:45 p.m. For more information, log onto www.elkgroveparks.org or call (847) 437-9494. Pullip doll event coming

PUDDLE 2008, a convention for lovers of Pullip, Dal, Namu and Taeyang dolls, will take place Saturday at Mitsuwa Chicago Marketplace, Algonquin and Arlington Heights roads in Arlington Heights. PUDDLE stands for Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event. The free event begins at 9 a.m., with participants invited to bring along, or dress like, their favorite Pullip, Namu, Taeyang or Dal.
