Stebic offers to end visitation wrangling with missing wife's family

The husband of a missing Plainfield woman is offering to settle a legal fight with his estranged in-laws over visitation rights to the couple's two children.

Lawyers say Craig Stebic submitted his offer Friday to Lisa Stebic's family members.

The 37-year-old woman vanished last April after being seen at the couple's Plainfield home.

The Stebics were in the midst of a divorce at the time of her disappearance.

Craig Stebic's attorney says the settlement is confidential, and a lawyer for Lisa Stebic's parents and grandparents says he's reviewing the offer.

Meanwhile, a family spokeswoman says she's "cautiously hopeful" the two sides can strike a deal.
