Woman whose car struck Bullock's SUV pleads guilty

GLOUCESTER, Mass. -- A woman whose car struck actress Sandra Bullock's SUV last month has been placed on probation for one year.

Lucile Gatchell pleaded guilty Tuesday to operating under the influence of alcohol and marked lanes violation.

The Essex District Attorney's office says 64-year-old Gatchell, of Gloucester, will lose her license for 60 days and must complete an alcohol safety program.

Neither Bullock nor her husband, celebrity motorcycle builder Jesse James, were hurt in the April 18 accident. Police said Gatchell's car crossed the center line on East Main Street and struck the vehicle that Bullock and James were riding in.

The actress was in the Cape Ann area filming the romantic comedy, "The Proposal."
