• Air Force Airman Kevin D. Bosshardt, son of Eileen Monterrosa of Mundelein, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, Bosshardt studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Bosshardt is a 2007 graduate of Mundelein High School.
• Air Force Maj. Eric T. Monico, son of Kenneth F. and Ruth A. Monico of Hawthorn Woods, has been selected as the Air Mobility Command Outstanding Active Duty Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Field Grade Officer of the year (Wing level and below) for 2007.
Selection was based on the individual's exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, notable accomplishments, significant self-improvement and community service and support.
Maj. Monico is currently assigned as the intelligence flight commander, 15th Air Mobility Operations Squadron, Travis Air Force Base, in Fairfield, Calif. He has been selected for an assignment to Headquarters, Joints Chiefs of Staff, Intelligence Directorate, at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. The major has served in the military for 12 years.
The major graduated in 1991 from Palatine High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1995 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Major Monico earned a master's degree in 2000 from Troy University, Ala.
