What's happening on Dempster?

Can anyone out there give us a straight answer as to what is being built on the property adjacent to the Salvation Army facility on Dempster Street behind the Jewel store?

There were two single family homes demolished recently and rumors are flying around the neighborhood as to what is replacing them. If anything other than single family homes are being built, wouldn't it require a zoning change, and therefore a zoning change hearing? I don't recall any type of hearing being held or publicized recently.

Maybe someone can enlighten us in the neighborhood and tell us what to expect. One rumor I heard (that I choose not to spread here) might not be too well received by the neighbors and maybe that is the reason for the secrecy?
