Officials are never held responsible
You actually think that your editorial "Legislators, governor, start talking now" on May 16 will do any good? Dream on. It is a waste of words.
As long as not one elected official will ever be held accountable for anything, there will be no change.
A bridge could collapse, killing hundreds, and no one would be held responsible. Panels would be convened to investigate. Nothing else done.
It is a sad fact the Blagojevich was elected a second time by the voters of Illinois. It is also a sad fact that voters do not believe their representative is part of the problem. No, it's the other guy. That is why Michael Madigan and Emil Jones keep getting elected. But both are part of the problem.
