Why can't we offer free health care?

We are the richest country in the world, and we can't even take care of our own people by providing free health insurance to everyone.

Many innocent people have died as a result because their insurance did not cover certain diseases and illness.

Other countries take care of their own people and want them to live longer, so "why can't we?"
