Brothers guilty in slaying
Two Aurora brothers have been convicted in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old Aurora man late last year during a drug deal, Kane County prosecutors said Thursday. Jamie Castro, 21, and Edgar Castro, 20, both formerly of the 0-99 block of Hickory Avenue, were found guilty of first-degree murder and other offenses in the Dec. 4, 2007, slaying of Julio Gurrola. Gurrola was killed at the Castros' home and his body left under the High Street Bridge in Aurora, where it was found. The brothers had been on trial for more than a week and a jury deliberated about five hours before it reached a verdict, prosecutors said. They are set to be sentenced June 26.
