Fire, Wisla Krakow end in 0-0 draw

BRIDGEVIEW -- The Chicago Fire and Wisla Krakow played to a 0-0 draw Wednesday night in a friendly played before 14,040 fans at Toyota Park.

Seven cards were issued in a physical match in which neither team got into a good rhythm on offense.

Wisla's best chance occurred in the 34th minute. Fire goalkeeper Nick Noble made a one-handed save to deflect Marek Zienczuk's shot back into play. Defender Wilman Conde cleared the ball.

On the corner kick, Cleber de Lima attempted a header, but sent it wide right.

Chicago got a man advantage in the 55th minute, when de Lima took down Calen Carr and received a yellow card. A number of players ran after referee Mark Kadlecik. Mauro Cantoro got a yellow card and Junior Diaz got a red.

The Fire is 5-4-3 all-time in friendlies played in the Chicago area.
