Cyclist hit by car in Mundelein
A 44-year-old Glencoe man was slightly injured while biking this morning after being hit by a car at Winchester Road and Tiffany Lane in Mundelein.
The unnamed bicyclist was heading west on Winchester Road when a car driven by Kendra Sanpahl, 31, of Round Lake, turned in front of him, Mundelein Police Chief Michael O'Brien said.
The cyclist hit the car hard enough to send him over the hood, O'Brien said.
The cyclist landed on the pavement and suffered bumps, scrapes and bruises, but refused medical treatment at the scene, O'Brien said.
Sanpahl was cited at the scene for failure to yield. Traffic was backed up at the intersection for about 30 minutes.
