Man shot at apartment complex in Carpentersville

Carpentersville police received a call of shots fired at 4:57 p.m. Monday from 14 Oxford Road in the Fox View Apartment Complex.

A number of shots were fired and a man was reported with a gunshot wound to his abdomen in front of the Fox View security building.

Carpentersville police surrounded the area and soon deemed it safe for medical personnel to treat a person who had been injured.

A 33-year-old man, who was described as combative by police and medical personnel, was treated on the scene by paramedics and was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

According to hospital sources at 7 p.m., the victim was in stable condition.

Carpentersville police have released no information on the shooting, other than they are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the shooter.
