Man faces weapon charges, restraint

A Carpentersville man with a gun held two women against their will in a rented home Saturday evening and Sunday morning, police said.

Kenneth Green, 47, of 6537 Marble Lane, Carpentersville, was charged with aggravated unlawful restraint, unlawful restraint, two counts of domestic battery, aggravated assault, interference with the reporting of a domestic battery, possession of a gun without a firearm owner's identification card and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner's identification card, according to a report.

Police were called to the home early Sunday. Green has been accused of holding a loaded gun to the head of a 23-year-old woman and restraining a 41-year-old woman by putting his hands around her neck.

Police said Green had an argument with one of them, ripped off her clothing and then forced her to shower.

He took their cell phones away and threatened the two if they called police, the report said.

When police entered the home about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, they found a loaded handgun in an empty fish tank in the living room, the report said.

A shotgun was found under the bed in the master bedroom and shells for the gun were inside the room's closet. Another shotgun was found under a child's bed and its ammunition was lying nearby, police said.

Green was unable to post a $7,000 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail Monday afternoon.

He is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on the charges on May 30 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
