Lake Zurich chamber goes after stimulus checks

Thinking of ways to spend your economic stimulus rebate check?

Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce's Let Loose -- Spend & Win campaign, which began Monday, offers a chance to win six weekly cash drawings of $100 and a grand prize of $1,200.

To enter, participants must present receipts for purchases of $500 or more. The receipts must be dated May 1 through June 30. The chamber announced earlier it would only accept receipts dated May 19 through June 30.

"The stimulus checks started coming out earlier than planned when we originally laid this all out," said Dale Perrin, Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce executive director. "We've had a lot of people interested in it."

Entry forms are now being accepted. Forms, applicable rules and a list of chamber member businesses are available at www.lakezurich areachamber.com.

Entry forms must be submitted in person or sent in with original receipts by July 1. Receipts will be validated and returned. A maximum of five entries is allowed for single purchases of $2,500 or more.

Receipts may be brought to three locations: the chamber office, 1st Bank Plaza, Suite 308; Jewel, 485 Ela Road; and Lake Zurich Florists, 34 E. Main St.

The contest is not limited to Lake Zurich-area residents.

"Anybody can enter as long as they bought stuff from a chamber member business," Perrin said.

The $100 weekly drawings will be held Tuesdays starting next week from entries received the week before. The $1,200 grand prize will be drawn during Lake Zurich's Fourth of July family days celebration at Paulus Park.

Winners will be notified by phone. All winnings are taxable. For more information, call (847) 438-5572.
