Whispering Meadows has acres of open space, plus land for school

It's hard to be quiet about Whispering Meadows.

When complete, the community will consist of 93 estate-size, single-family homes on 180 acres in Yorkville. The development will feature 43 acres of open space, a 12-acre park with a playground and a bicycle path, and a 15-acre site set aside for a planned school.

Yet, despite ranging in size from three to five bedrooms, and from two to 3½ baths, the homes vary in price from only the mid-$200,000s to the low $300,000s.

The community's seven floor plans include both ranch and two-story homes, ranging in size from 1,835 to more than 3,449 square feet with two- or three-car garages.

To visit Whispering Meadows, take I-88 west and exit at Route 56, continue to the Route 47 exit. Exit Route 47 south to Cannonball Trail and make a right (west). Follow Cannonball Trail to Alice Road and make a right. Take Alice Road to Alan Dale Lane, right to the William Ryan Homes sales center.

The sales office is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday.
