Women don't have to support Clinton

Jean Alberti's letter published as "Shame on women who reject Clinton" asserts that women who support Obama are somehow disloyal and ungrateful for efforts by older women such as Clinton in improving women's rights.

As a middle aged professional woman, I admire and recognize Sen. Clinton's "efforts over the past 30 years."

However, mere gratitude is not enough to earn my vote nor is it any guarantee that a woman president would improve the lot for all other American women. I am extremely disheartened that Alberti would not vote for Obama, who has experienced discrimination his whole life and is committed to equal rights.

Please reconsider, Ms. Alberti.
